WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. CAMA, an adaptive bed, and FLOW, an adaptive chair, are the first surfaces this research runs on. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience.

You own one mechanism or test rig from spec to made part. You'll work on CAD, drawings, hand calculations, building it yourself at the bench, and running it on a rig.

In This Role You Will

  • -Own one scoped mechanism or test rig, from spec to made part to rig data.
  • -Model it in SolidWorks and produce drawings good enough to send to a vendor.
  • -Do the hand calculations, and show your working.
  • -Build it yourself at the bench and record where the drawing was wrong.
  • -Instrument it, run it to failure, and present what you found to the whole team.

What We Hope You'll Bring

  • -You have built something physical that worked, outside of a course requirement.
  • -Currently in or recently finished a B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical or equivalent.
  • -Working SolidWorks — first-angle projection, sections, basic GD&T.
  • -You know what a vernier reads, because you have used one.
  • -Available full-time, on-site in Hyderabad, for {6 months}.
  • -Nice to have: competition team (Formula Student, BAJA, Robocon), lathe or mill time, anything you have built in a hostel room.
