WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. CAMA, an adaptive bed, and FLOW, an adaptive chair, are the first surfaces this research runs on. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience.

You own the end-to-end experience across the machines and their mobile application. You'll work on the interaction model for autonomous behaviour, onboarding, the design system, and how continuous body data is presented to a person.

In This Role You Will

  • -Own the end-to-end experience across the physical product and its application.
  • -Design the interaction model for autonomous behaviour: what the system does silently, what it announces, what it asks permission for, and how a user overrides it.
  • -Design onboarding for a product that has to learn a body before it can work at all.
  • -Build and own the design system — components, patterns, motion, tone.
  • -Turn continuous physiological and postural data into something a person can act on, without inventing clinical authority we do not have.
  • -Run usability research on real hardware, and let it change your design.
  • -Work with ML and firmware on what the system can actually sense, and how confident it is.

What We Hope You'll Bring

  • -You have shipped a product experience people used daily, and you can show what changed after launch.
  • -5+ years in product or UX design, ideally with connected hardware.
  • -Strong Figma; fluent in design systems and in prototyping interaction, not only screens.
  • -You do your own research and you have changed your mind because of it.
  • -You can hold a position in a room full of engineers.
  • -Nice to have: wearables or IoT, health and sleep data products, motion design, front-end literacy.
