WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. CAMA, an adaptive bed, and FLOW, an adaptive chair, are the first surfaces this research runs on. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience.
You own one scoped design problem, such as a component or a touchpoint. You'll work on sketches, CAD, and physical models, and take your part to a manufactured result.
In This Role You Will
- -Own one scoped design problem — a component, a touchpoint, an accessory — from concept to made part.
- -Sketch, model and prototype, fast and repeatedly.
- -Build physical models yourself. The workshop and printers are available to you.
- -Sit in on mechanical reviews and learn what the constraint is before you fight it.
- -Present your work to the team.
What We Hope You'll Bring
- -You make physical things, not only renders.
- -Currently in or recently finished a degree in industrial or product design.
- -Working surfacing CAD — {Rhino, Fusion or SolidWorks}.
- -A portfolio with sketches and prototypes in it, not just final images.
- -Available full-time, on-site in Hyderabad, for {6 months}.
- -Nice to have: model-making or 3D printing experience, hardware projects, rendering skill.
