[Lead Electronics Engineer Application ]
WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. CAMA, an adaptive bed, and FLOW, an adaptive chair, are the first surfaces this research runs on. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience.
You own the electrical architecture of the whole system: sensing, power, motor drive, compute, communications, and safety. You'll work on the analog front end, compliance, bring-up, and validation, and you'll build the electronics team.
In This Role You Will
- -Own the system electrical architecture — sensing, power, motor drive, compute, communications and safety.
- -Design the high-channel-count analog front end: multiplexing, amplification, conversion, calibration and noise budget.
- -Own power architecture from mains input to rails, with a fault strategy that assumes a person is on the machine.
- -Design motor drive electronics against acoustic, thermal and efficiency targets.
- -Do the signal-integrity work properly — grounding, shielding, layout partitioning, EMI at source.
- -Drive design for compliance from the start: EMC, electrical safety, {relevant standards}.
- -Own bring-up, characterisation and design validation. Qualify vendors and take boards into production.
- -Hire, lead and mentor the electronics team.
What We Hope You'll Bring
- -You have taken an electronics system through certification and into production.
- -6+ years in electronics design, with both mixed-signal and power experience.
- -Strong analog fundamentals. You can calculate a noise budget rather than simulate one and hope.
- -Real EMC experience — you have been in a chamber and fixed what failed.
- -You have led engineers and run reviews that changed designs.
- -Nice to have: sensor array design, BLDC drive electronics, functional safety or medical device electronics, multi-geography certification.
