WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. CAMA, an adaptive bed, and FLOW, an adaptive chair, are the first surfaces this research runs on. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience.
You own drivers and firmware modules on real hardware. You'll work on board bring-up, control loops, sensor acquisition, debugging with proper instruments, and bench tooling for the team.
In This Role You Will
- -Write and maintain device drivers — SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, PWM, timers, DMA.
- -Bring up new boards from first power-on to working peripherals.
- -Implement control loops and motion routines on real actuators.
- -Build acquisition paths for sensor data, and get the timing right.
- -Debug with scope, logic analyser and debugger. Find the cause, not a workaround.
- -Write test firmware and bench tooling for the rest of the team.
- -Work directly with electronics engineers during hardware bring-up.
What We Hope You'll Bring
- -You have made hardware do something, and you can explain the bug that took you longest.
- -1–4 years in embedded development, or a project record that substitutes.
- -B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, CS or equivalent.
- -Solid C. Comfortable with microcontrollers, registers and datasheets.
- -You use a debugger and a scope, not only serial prints.
- -Nice to have: RTOS experience, motor control projects, robotics club, open-source embedded contributions.
