WATER is a Biophysical Intelligence research company. Our mission is to teach matter to respond to life: we study how the human body and the physical world respond to each other, and we build machines that sense a body, model its state, and respond in real time. CAMA, an adaptive bed, and FLOW, an adaptive chair, are the first surfaces this research runs on. The work spans three research directions: machine learning and mathematics, bio research, and materials and electronics. The long-range outcomes we care about are human longevity and human experience.
You own the mobile application end to end, on both platforms. You'll work on BLE connectivity and offline behaviour, onboarding, data visualisation, backend and device integration, and release.
In This Role You Will
- -Build and own the mobile application end to end, on {iOS and Android}.
- -Own device connectivity — BLE pairing, provisioning, reconnection, offline behaviour, and state reconciliation with a machine that keeps running without you.
- -Implement onboarding, including the body scan flow that has to work before anything else does.
- -Build data visualisation for sleep, posture and physiological data.
- -Integrate with backend and device APIs, and handle sync, conflict and failure states honestly.
- -Work with the UX designer through implementation, and push back when a design does not survive real data.
- -Own release: store submission, staged rollout, crash reporting, analytics, and OTA coordination with firmware.
What We Hope You'll Bring
- -You have shipped an app to a store and maintained it afterwards.
- -3+ years in mobile development.
- -Strong in {Swift, Kotlin, React Native or Flutter} — tell us which and why.
- -You have worked with BLE or another connected-device protocol, and you know the happy path is the easy part.
- -You care what the app feels like, not only whether it compiles.
- -Nice to have: IoT companion apps, data visualisation, health data frameworks (HealthKit, Health Connect), backend capability.
